COVID-19

STILL OPEN– for emergency procedures

Dear Patients,

The staff at North Pointe Dental Associates are here to serve your dental emergency needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has become clear that our Tampa Bay community is going to need more time than initially anticipated to recover from the Covid-19 crisis. Our most recent mandate issued by the ADA (American Dental Association), the FDA (Florida Dental Association), and reinforced by directives of the Governor of Florida, WHO (the World Health Organization), FDH (Florida Department of Health), and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), requests that dental practices discontinue all non-emergency dental procedures until May 8th 2020.

For that reason, we have shortened our weekly operating hours to:

  • Monday – Thursday from 8 am – 1 pm
  • Friday 8 am – 12 pm.

We are hoping to return to normal patient care on Monday, May 11th 2020, once the mandate is lifted. Should additional orders present themselves, we have every intention to follow the federal, state, &/or local guidelines in place at that time. We do understand the impact this closure may have on our patients but we must respect the guidelines in place for the safety of our community, employees and patients.

In short, avoiding all non-essential elective dental procedures will help to conserve desperately needed medical supplies, referred to as PPE – Personal Protective Equipment. PPE medical supplies, such as masks, gloves, gowns, face shields, and other valuable materials that are in high demand and short supply run the risk of becoming unavailable to restock in this current pandemic. Every country in the world is in need of MORE supplies. By treating only emergency dental cases, we hope to preserve supplies so the ability to provide essential medical care to those threatened with Covid-19 may be cared for first.

Rest assured, we will continue to see patients for Emergency Care. Emergency Services include:

  • Swelling of the gums
  • Severe toothache
  • Non-stop bleeding in the mouth
  • Crowns that have come off
  • Fractured or broken teeth
  • Continuous pain
  • Swelling of neck or mouth

Patients who wish to communicate by email (NPDA@northpointedental.com) or voicemail 813-961-1727 during this period are urged to do so.

When the time comes for us to start resuming routine patient care, we will begin reaching out to patients to book the missed appointments from March, April, and May of this year. Those of you that are ready to book reservations in June or later, are urged to do so now if you are ready. As you become ready, you are welcome to reach out via phone or email and we will respond accordingly.

Please stay healthy ☺

Sincerely,

North Pointe Dental Associates
